The guide

The Engagement Ring, Explained

A personal jeweller's guide to choosing well

Most people buy one engagement ring in their life, and there is no practice run. I wrote this to give you what I would want a friend to know before walking into a shop: what to look at, what to ask, and what to get in writing.

I source natural diamonds and coloured stones. That is my trade, and you should know it before you weigh anything I say. The guide also describes laboratory-grown diamonds properly, because you will be offered one, and you should be able to make up your own mind.
